Al-Baour discusses with the European Union Ambassador and the head of the EUBAM mission ways to support joint cooperation.

Tripoli, April 7, 2025 (LANA) – The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baour, discussed bilateral relations with the European Union Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando.

This came during Al-Baour's reception of Orlando at his office this morning in the capital, Tripoli, in the presence of the Head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission (EUBAM).

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement that the meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the political and development fields, in addition to discussing issues related to supporting stability and improving the performance of Libyan institutions.

Al-Baour stressed the importance of the strategic partnership with the European Union, praising the positive role it plays in supporting the Libyan state's efforts towards stability and reconstruction, according to the statement.

For his part, Orlando praised the level of existing cooperation, expressing the European Union's keenness to deepen this cooperation to serve mutual interests and enhance opportunities for peace and development in Libya.

The ministry indicated that the meeting comes within the framework of ongoing coordination between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the EUBAM mission, which contributes to providing technical support and capacity building, particularly in the field of border management and governance, thus enhancing the efficiency of relevant Libyan institutions.
