Dabaiba discusses the Central Bank's report with the UN envoy and affirms the government's commitment to strengthening the economy.

Tripoli, April 7, 2025 (LANA) – Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, discussed the latest report issued by the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) on Monday in Tripoli with the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Libya, Hanna Tetteh.

The government's media office stated that the two sides emphasized the importance of continuing the approach of disclosure and transparency in presenting financial statements, given their pivotal role in strengthening citizen confidence in public institutions and ensuring effective oversight of spending. They also emphasized the importance of joint efforts to continue constructive cooperation between the government and the UN mission in support of political and economic processes, leading to the holding of elections in a stable and secure environment.

The office quoted the Prime Minister as stressing that the deviations in parallel spending outside official frameworks have caused direct economic consequences for citizens, calling for unified efforts to control public spending within approved legal and oversight frameworks.

According to the media office, during the meeting, the envoy gave a comprehensive presentation on the results of her recent local and international tours, which focused on supporting efforts to consolidate political and security stability in Libya and promote consensus among the stakeholders.
