Libya participates in the activities of the Pan-African Youth Leadership Conference in Addis Ababa.

Addis Ababa, April 6, 2025 (LANA) – The Pan-African Youth Leadership Conference concluded in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, on Saturday. Libya participated, represented by the Minister of Youth in the Government of National Unity and the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Scouts and Guides Movement.

The opening ceremony of the conference was attended by the President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Taye Atsekeslassie, the Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Ambassador Salma Haddadi, senior federal government officials, ministers of youth affairs from participating African countries, youth leaders from across Africa, and youth development agencies.

The conference, held under the theme "Empowering Youth - For a Prosperous Africa," included a series of programs, activities, and workshops aimed at promoting and developing youth, scouting, and volunteer work on the African continent.

On the sidelines of the conference, the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Scouts and Guides Movement met with the Chief Commissioner of the Ethiopian Scouts. They reviewed joint action strategies and exchanged views on developing scouting across Africa.

The Commander-in-Chief also met with the Chairperson of the African Union Anti-Corruption Commission. They exchanged ideas and proposals to enhance the role of scouting institutions in implementing awareness and educational programs aimed at combating corruption and promoting transparency in African societies.

The conference is a key platform that brings together young leaders and decision-makers to enrich discussions, exchange experiences, and build effective partnerships that contribute to supporting youth aspirations for a brighter future. It also reflects Africa's commitment to empowering its youth and preparing them to play an active role in shaping the continent's future by fostering their spirit of innovation and leadership.
