Hanna Tetteh meets with members of the Libyan Parties League

Tripoli, April 6, 2025 (LANA) - The Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya (SRSG) of the United Nations, Hanna Tetteh, accompanied by her Deputy for Political Affairs, Stephanie Khoury, met today, Sunday, at the mission's headquarters in Tripoli, with members of the Libyan Parties Association.
The Libyan Parties Association stated that the envoy briefed the political parties on the latest developments in the Dialogue Committee, which will conclude its work at the end of this month. She also listened to the parties' recommendations and observations regarding the next phase of the dialogue.
For his part, Hamri Al-Shawish, head of the Nabd Al-Watan Party, who participated in the meeting, stated that the discussions focused on presenting and discussing the mission's ideas and plans to try to resolve the political impasse, particularly the mission's initiative, the work of the Advisory Committee, and the visions and ideas of the political parties.
The party's page stated that during the meeting, the need to support the party experience in Libya was emphasized, as a legal political framework that allows Libyan citizens to be influential and effective in their country's affairs, creates a peaceful political process for the transfer of power, and brings Libya to safety, as is the case with all developed and stable countries that enjoy successful democratic systems of government.
