Sabha, April 1, 2025 (LANA) - The Sabha Medical Center announced that it received 63 cases of injury among children during the first day of Eid due to playing with dangerous pellet guns.
The center said in a statement, that the injuries received by its outpatient and ophthalmology clinics ranged from minor to moderate, while two cases required urgent surgical intervention due to the severity of the injuries, reflecting the extent of the threat these toys pose to children's safety.
The center warned that the continued sale of these dangerous toys by some merchants poses a major challenge to the intensive efforts of relevant authorities, led by the Attorney General in Sabha and the Municipal Guard.
Doctors at the center warned of the dire consequences of these toys, especially on the eyes, stressing the importance of educating parents about their dangers and taking the necessary measures to protect children from exposure to such painful accidents.
