UN envoy calls on Libyan political leaders to embrace the spirit of Eid.

Tripoli, March 30, 2025 (LANA) – UN envoy Hanna Tetteh, said that her meetings with Libyans from across the country highlighted growing concerns about the political stalemate and economic hardships faced by many.
In a congratulatory message on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, published by the mission, Tetteh called on political leaders, institutions, and authorities to work hard and embrace the spirit of Eid to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the country.
The UN envoy affirmed, that she was inspired by the spirit of solidarity and compassion among Libyans during the month of Ramadan she spent in Libya, noting their dedication to preserving their authentic and beautiful traditions.
In her message, she referred to those spending Eid far from their homes and families due to forced displacement, arbitrary arrest, or unlawful detention, calling on the authorities to uphold human rights values, which represent the cornerstone of building trust, promoting reconciliation, and ensuring an inclusive society that reflects the aspirations of all Libyans.
