Attorney General: The perpetrator of five murders in the city of Ajilat has been detained.

Tripoli, March 23, 2025 (LANA) – The Public Prosecutor's Office revealed that the investigating authority has initiated criminal proceedings against the perpetrator of five murders in the city of Ajilat during the years (2012, 2016, 2019, and 2020).

The office reported that the Public Prosecutor reviewed the evidence collection records, which included proof of the circumstances surrounding the murders attributed to the accused (A. B.), as well as the arson attacks on the homes of some residents of the city of Ajilat in 2011 due to their political views.

He explained that the investigator confronted the accused with the evidence in his possession after he was arrested by members of the Tripoli Security Directorate. He recorded his statements regarding his involvement in a gang whose members were involved in smuggling illegal migrants. He ordered his detention pending investigation.
