Desert locust control campaign continues in Abu Hadi areas.

Sirt, March 22, 2025 (LANA) – The pesticide spraying campaign to combat desert locusts continues in the areas of Al-Habaa, Al-Ghazi, and Al-Qadawariya in the Abu Hadi district of Sirt, as part of intensive efforts to limit the spread of this agricultural pest.
The director of the Central Agricultural Police Branch, Colonel Abdul Salam Saeed, told a LANA correspondent in Sirte, that field teams are continuing their pesticide spraying operations and have succeeded in eliminating large numbers of desert locust swarms in the aforementioned areas.
Colonel Saeed added that monitoring teams have detected new locust gatherings in the Al-Farjaniya area in the Wadi Jarif district, noting that they will be dealt with immediately after the completion of the current campaign in the Abu Hadi district.
He confirmed, that the campaign is being implemented with direct supervision from the Sirt Municipality and the Supreme Committee for Combating Desert Locusts to ensure control of the locust spread and protect agricultural crops in the region.
