Abdel-Ati confirms to (Tetteh) Egypt's support for the Libyan-Libyan solution to reach elections.

Cairo, March 12, 2025 (LANA) - Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration Badr Abdel Aty affirmed his country's continued support for the Libyan parties to reach consensus, strengthen the Libyan-Libyan solution, and respect state institutions, leading to the holding of simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections.
This came during his meeting with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations for Libya, Hanna Tetteh, in Cairo on Tuesday. He congratulated her on assuming her position.
According to a post published by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its official page on Wednesday, the Egyptian official expressed his aspiration to enhance cooperation with her to ensure the success of her mission, serving efforts to reach a sustainable solution to the crisis in Libya under Libyan ownership and leadership, in accordance with relevant international standards and resolutions.
During the meeting, Abdel Aty stressed the need for all foreign forces, foreign fighters, and mercenaries to withdraw from Libya within a specific timeframe, in a manner that preserves Libya's unity, integrity, and stability.
This is Tetteh's first foreign visit since assuming her position as UN envoy to Libya.
