A joint ministerial committee discusses mechanisms for addressing the situations of troubled companies and ensuring the rights of their workers

Tripoli, March 10, 2025 (LANA) - A joint ministerial committee headed by Minister of Transport "Mohammed Al-Shahoubi" held an expanded meeting today, Monday, to discuss mechanisms for addressing the situations of troubled national companies and providing urgent solutions to guarantee the rights of their workers.

During the meeting, several proposals were put forward to address the situation, including referring a portion of the workers to the Social Security Fund to ensure the continuity of their financial rights, and redistributing other workers to government sectors and facilities capable of absorbing them.

"Al-Shahoubi" stressed that the meeting aims to protect the rights of workers, noting that consultation sessions will continue with all concerned parties to ensure the implementation of the mechanisms without delay.

It is scheduled to reach a final mechanism during the coming week to implement the solutions in a fair and organized manner, in accordance with legal controls and professional standards.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation "Ali Al-Abed", along with members of the committee and directors of departments at the Ministries of Labor and Civil Service, and representatives of the Libyan Workers Union.
