Benghazi, March 10, 2025 (LANA) - The Prime Minister assigned by the House of Representatives, Osama Hammad, signed with the Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister, Viktor Karankevich, on Sunday, in Benghazi, memoranda of understanding for joint cooperation in a number of fields.
The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the visit of the Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister to Benghazi today, Sunday, accompanied by a ministerial delegation including the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Ministers of Industry, Agriculture, Health, Emergencies and Education, Ivanets Ivanovich, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Belarusian State Oil and Chemical Company "Belneftekhim".
The memorandum of understanding includes cooperation in the sectors of agriculture and food security, industry, geological exploration services, health care and medicines, training of doctors and medical workers, in the field of education and human development, in the field of security, maintaining public order, and preventing natural disasters, by exchanging the best experiences in the field of disaster prevention, emergency response, training, and supplying equipment.
The two sides also agreed to establish a joint contact group to coordinate cooperation and follow up on the implementation of agreements concluded between the two countries, while exchanging information about the group's coordinators from both parties and establishing clear mechanisms to achieve actual progress in priority areas of cooperation, by identifying the bodies authorized to develop and implement joint projects, and preparing roadmaps that include bilateral agreements, contracts and work plans.
The government assigned by the representatives indicated that the visit of the Belarusian delegation comes in light of strengthening relations between the two countries, and raising levels of bilateral cooperation in all agricultural, industrial, technical and health fields, in a way that serves the common interests of the two friendly countries.
