Al-Tumi meets with the International Organization for Migration Mission.

Tripoli, March 8, 2025 (LANA) - The Minister of Local Government in the Government of National Unity, "Badr Eddine Al-Tumi", discussed today, Saturday, with the Head of the International Organization for Migration Mission in Libya, "Nicoletta Giordano", ways to enhance cooperation and partnership through the implementation of joint development projects.
"Al-Tumi" stressed during the meeting, according to the media office of the ministry, the importance of partnership with the International Organization for Migration in light of the current challenges facing the country, especially in the areas of migration.
He explained that this file is very sensitive and touches on many sectors, and must be worked on according to the approved frameworks and coordination.
He pointed out that enhancing cooperation with the organization can contribute to dispelling public opinion concerns about this file, and enhance the ability of municipalities to deal with the issues of displaced persons.
For her part, Giordano reviewed, during the meeting, a detailed presentation on the activities implemented by the organization in Libya during the past period, pointing out the need for the organization to coordinate with the ministry in the program of providing direct support to the displaced through cooperation with municipalities.
According to the media office, she presented several initiatives for joint work with the ministry, including those related to disarmament and reintegration, protection, and building the capacities of municipalities in dealing with the displaced, explaining how these programs can contribute to the stability of local communities.
