Minister of State for Women's Affairs discusses with Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General to Libya ways to enhance Libyan women's participation

Tripoli, March 6, 2025 (LANA) - Minister of State for Women's Affairs, Houria Al-Tarmal, discussed with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Libya, Hanna Tetteh, and her deputy, Stephanie Khoury, ways to enhance the participation of Libyan women.
The meeting addressed mechanisms to support women's rights and empower them in various fields to ensure equal opportunities and enhance their role in decision-making positions.
For her part, Tetteh affirmed the United Nations' commitment to supporting Libyan efforts to enhance women's presence in leadership positions.
This meeting comes within the framework of cooperation to enhance women's empowerment programs, which contributes to achieving sustainable development and stability.
