Tripoli, March 4, 2025 (LANA) - Head of the Presidential Council, "Mohammed Al-Manfi", confirmed Libya's categorical rejection of the idea of evacuating the Gaza Strip of its residents and forcing them to flee.
"Al-Manfi" said in his speech before the extraordinary summit of the Arab League held in Cairo today, Tuesday, that the issue of displacing Palestinians from Gaza under the name of "reconstruction" contradicts all religions and human values, and violates the principles of international legitimacy.
In his speech, Al-Manfi stressed the need to adopt a unified Arab position towards Palestinian and Arab issues, stressing that this position must reject any attempt aimed at removing the Palestinian people from their land or forcing them to flee.
He also expressed Libya's support for the efforts made by Egypt and Qatar in sponsoring the negotiations that led to reaching a cessation of aggression on Gaza, calling for continuing these efforts to achieve the transition to the second phase of the agreement.
The Head of the Presidential Council pointed out the importance of directing the Arab will to support the cessation of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, with the need to move to the second phase of the ceasefire agreement.
He also called for the start of the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, which was subjected to destruction and genocide, stressing that the responsibility for reconstruction should be in the hands of the Arabs, supported by the support of the international community.
