Al-Koni follows up with the Chairman of the High Elections Commission the steps adopted to hold municipal elections in the Western Region

Tripoli, March 3, 2025 (LANA) - The Deputy of the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni, continues to hold his periodic meetings with the Chairman of the High National Elections Commission, Imad Al-Sayeh, to follow up on the steps approved by the Commission to implement the municipal council elections "Group Two", which were recently announced, during which Al-Sayeh provided Al-Koni with a full briefing on the readiness to implement the municipal elections in a smooth manner.
During the meeting, which was attended by the Deputy Chief of General Staff, Commander of the Military Region on the West Coast, Lieutenant General Salah Al-Din Al-Namroush, it was emphasized that the municipal elections in the western region will be held according to the mechanism approved by the Commission.
In turn, Lieutenant General Al-Namroush confirmed the readiness of the members of the Military Region on the West Coast in cooperation with the security services to secure the municipal elections to ensure that they are held in a smooth manner.
Al-Koni expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the Commission to complete the municipal council elections, stressing the continued support of the Presidential Council for the Commission, which enhances its readiness and creates an appropriate climate to ensure the success of the integrity and transparency of the elections, which contributes to achieving stability and development in all regions of Libya.
The meeting discussed the MP's vision of returning to the governorate system as an executive authority to facilitate its follow-up and to ensure that all regions and components of the Libyan people obtain their rights by receiving their budgets to manage their projects, and to reduce the burden on the central government, which will devote itself to its sovereign role.
