Al-Koni discusses with the British Ambassador to Libya the latest developments in Libya at various levels

Tripoli, March 2, 2025 (LANA) - Deputy of the Presidential Council "Musa Al-Koni" discussed with the British Ambassador to Libya "Martin Longden" today, Sunday, the latest developments in the situation in Libya at various levels, especially the efforts made by the United Nations to find a comprehensive political settlement to address the current political stalemate.

According to the Presidential Council, "Al-Koni" stressed during the meeting the necessity of working with the three-region system with independent legislative councils, to ensure stability in all regions of Libya. Stressing that working with the governorate system as an executive authority ensures that all regions and components of the Libyan people obtain their rights through it by handing over their budgets to manage their projects, and to bring services closer to citizens in their regions so that the state can devote itself to exercising its sovereign role and to relieve pressure on the capital.

For his part, the ambassador stressed his country's continued interest in the Libyan file to contribute to addressing the deadlock by communicating with the political parties to overcome the points of contention in preparation for holding parliamentary and presidential elections.

Al-Koni stressed the Presidential Council's continued support for the efforts of the UN mission and its advisory committee, which presented proposals to resolve the outstanding controversial issues in order to reach the electoral entitlement.
