Al-Abed and Thabet discuss organizing the entry of Egyptian workers.

Tripoli, 2 March 2025 (Lana) GNU Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Abed, stressed the need to activate the labor visa system urgently to ensure the entry of Egyptian workers through official ports.
This came during his meeting with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Libyan Ambassador to Egypt, Abdul Mutalib Thabet, during which they discussed organizing the entry of Egyptian workers to Libya through official ports, in line with the needs of the Libyan market.
The ministry said on its official page today that the meeting was held in the presence of the Director of the Passports, Nationality, and Foreigners Affairs Authority, Major General Youssef Murad, and a number of officials in the ministry, within the framework of efforts aimed at organizing the labor market and protecting the national economy.
For his part, Major General Murad stressed the readiness of the Passports and Nationality Authority to implement security checks on visa applications and provide the relevant authorities with the necessary data to facilitate the entry of workers in an organized and safe manner.
The attendees stressed the importance of enhancing joint coordination between all parties to ensure the organization of the entry of workers in accordance with legal controls in a way that serves the interests of the national economy and enhances cooperation with sister countries.
