Tripoli, February 25, 2025 (LANA) - Attorney General Counselor Al-Siddiq Al-Sour briefed the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, on Tuesday, on the latest developments in the investigations into the attempted assassination of Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Adel Jumaa.
The government's media office said that the two sides stressed in a phone call the importance of continuing coordination between the judicial and parliamentary agencies to ensure justice is achieved and the perpetrators are prosecuted, while stressing the need to take all legal measures to hold those involved in the incident accountable.
The Attorney General's office revealed earlier on Tuesday the details of the shooting incident of Jumaa, which occurred on February 12 while he was passing through the second ring road in the city of Tripoli.
The office explained that after conducting initial investigations, the identity of the perpetrator of the crime was determined, who turned out to have left the country heading to Tunisia after committing the crime, noting that all legal measures were taken to prosecute the suspect through international cooperation mechanisms.
The Public Prosecution confirmed that it will continue investigations to achieve justice and take all necessary legal measures to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
