General Authority for Research and Identification of Missing Persons discusses cooperation with the UNDP.

Tripoli, 25 February 2025 (Lana) Chairman of the General Authority for Research and Identification of Missing Persons, Dr. Kamal Al-Siwi, received yesterday the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Sophie Kemkhadze, and her accompanying delegation at the Authority’s headquarters in Tripoli, in the presence of a number of directors of UNDP’s departments and offices.

During a tour of the Authority's technical facilities, Kemkhadze was briefed on the modern technologies used, including genetic fingerprinting techniques, and their role in the efforts to search and identify missing persons.

She expressed her deep appreciation for the authority’s teams, commending their role in supporting the families of missing persons, and stressed the UNDP’s commitment to support these efforts and strengthen joint cooperation between the two parties in this humanitarian file.
