Tetteh confirms the United Nations' aspiration for stability in Libya by communicating with all parties

Tripoli - February 23, 2025 (LANA) - Deputy of the Presidential Council "Musa Al-Koni" reviewed today, Sunday, with the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Libya "Hanna Tetteh", who recently assumed her duties, the latest developments in the situation in Libya at various levels.

According to the Presidential Council, "Al-Koni" welcomed the UN envoy, wishing her success in performing her duties, stressing the Presidential Council's continued support for the efforts of the United Nations aimed at achieving stability in Libya, and working to achieve the electoral entitlements that the Libyan people aspire to.

The Council explained that "Al-Koni's" meeting with the envoy "Tetteh" discussed the latest developments in the situation in Libya at various levels, especially the national reconciliation project led by the Presidential Council as one of the pillars of achieving stability in Libya.

He added that the Vice President stressed during the meeting the need to return to the governorate system, to break up the centralization that has exhausted the state, explaining that the decentralization system will ensure that all regions obtain their rights through the governorates, by handing over their budgets to manage their projects, as it is the most effective solution to contribute to building local administration on a sound basis that can be relied upon to achieve stability.

He also stressed that there will be no stability in Libya except by holding free and fair elections whose results are satisfactory to all parties, in which the citizen's voice is the deciding factor.

For her part, the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Libya, "Hanna Tetteh", confirmed the United Nations' aspiration for stability in Libya by communicating with all parties in order to develop a unified vision aimed at addressing the current political impasse, to reach the electoral entitlement.
