The Somali Interior Minister expresses his country's desire to strengthen security partnership with Libya

Tripoli - February 23, 2025 (LANA) - The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Public Affairs, Major General "Mahmoud Saeed", discussed today, Sunday, with the Somali Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and National Reconciliation and his accompanying delegation, ways to enhance security cooperation between the two countries, in the presence of the Director of the Office of the Minister of Interior, Major General "Abdul Wahid Abdul Samad", and a number of security leaders.
The Ministry of Interior stated that the meeting also discussed preparations for signing joint agreements in the fields of security and combating terrorism, as the Somali Minister expressed his country's desire to strengthen the security partnership with Libya.
It added that the Somali delegation made a field tour that included the headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Department to see its facilities, in addition to visiting the Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Agency.
At the end of the visit, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior presented the shield of the Ministry of Interior to the Somali Minister in appreciation of his efforts in supporting security cooperation, stressing the depth of bilateral relations and the importance of continuing joint coordination in the security field.
