Pulbished on:

Tripoli, 23 February 2025 (Lana) Zueitina Oil Company has succeeded in returning the first production well from the Sabah field to work again after a ten-year hiatus due to sabotage in 2015, which put this field out of service.

The National Oil Corporation stated that the well's production capacity is about 600 barrels of oil per day, which is transported by mobile tankers to the Zalla field, which is about 90 kilometers away from the Sabah oil field, and the first shipment of production will be transported today, which is the first shipment to be transported since production stopped in 2015.

The corporation said that the company, in turn, immediately after receiving the field, set an urgent plan to restore production in the field in two stages, the first of which is concerned with restoring production to 2 producing wells with a capacity of 1,200 barrels of oil per day.

The second stage included installing the production plant in the field so that about 17 wells will be placed on this plant with a production capacity of about 4,000 barrels of oil per day during the last quarter of 2025 so that the field's production will reach 5,000 barrels of oil per day.
