Rabat, February 23, 2025 (Lana) -Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Committee of the House of Representatives (HoR), Youssef Al-Aqouri, stressed that stability and security require development, which is a condition that should not be absent. Therefore, the construction phase must proceed to provide job opportunities for young people in parallel with the process of building stability.

This came in his remark during his participation in the 2nd Forum of Heads of Foreign Affairs Committees in the African Parliament, which is being held in Rabat, Morocco, under the title "To Build Sustainable Foundations for Stability and Security in Africa."

According to the spokesman for the HoR, Abdullah Belihaq, Al-Aqouri stated that stability requires progress on the reconciliation path, closing the door on the past, and opening the door to participation for all without exclusion, as well as paying attention to the human rights file, which means strengthening the values of justice and equality, and it is useful to benefit from the experiences of other countries that have been exposed to violent conflicts, highlighting that there are a number of international agreements that need to be activated and work mechanisms for them.

He also stressed the importance of the role of parliamentarians in enhancing stability through various initiatives that aim to encourage dialogues between the people of one nation and between the countries of the continent, as parliamentary diplomacy can contribute to laying the common ground for enhancing stability on the African continent.

At the end of his remark, Al-Aqouri stated that the path of sustainable development is a long one, but commitment to follow it up will have a positive impact in preventing further conflicts and resolving current differences.
