Dabaiba welcomes new UN envoy

Tripoli, February 20, 2025 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, "Abdul Hamid Dabaiba", welcomed the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Libya, "Hanna Tetteh", wishing her success in carrying out her duties in Libya.

Dabaiba stressed during his reception of the UN envoy today, Thursday, in Tripoli, the support of the Government of National Unity for the efforts of the United Nations aimed at enhancing stability in Libya, and working to achieve electoral entitlements and end the transitional stages.

According to the media office of the Prime Minister, "Tetteh" expressed during the meeting her aspiration for the United Nations to play a positive role in supporting Libya, and supporting the Libyan people in achieving their aspirations for stability and development.

The meeting was attended on the Libyan side by the Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, and the National Security Advisor, while the United Nations Mission was represented by the Deputy Special Representative for Political Affairs, Ms. Stephanie Khoury, Mr. Anis Tshooma, and the Deputy Special Representative for Humanitarian Affairs and Acting Resident Coordinator of the United Nations.
