The Vice President (Al-Lafi) meets (Norland) and (Berndt)

Tripoli, February 20, 2025 (LANA) - The Deputy of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, reviewed today, Thursday, with the US envoy to Libya, "Richard Norland", and the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy, ​​"Jeremy Berndt", the developments of the political and economic scene in the country, in light of international, regional and local developments, with the new US administration assuming its duties.

The media office of the Presidential Council reported that "Al-Lafi" expressed during the meeting the Presidential Council's support for the work of the Advisory Committee, and the necessity of reaching positive results, towards holding elections that end the current political stalemate, stressing the necessity of approving a unified financial budget for the current year, in line with the requirements of the current stage, stressing the importance of following mechanisms that ensure transparency, accountability and rationalization of expenditures.

The meeting also discussed the efforts of the Presidential Council in the national reconciliation project, where the US envoy expressed in this context his country's continuation to support those efforts towards reconciliation, stability and prosperity, and ways of cooperation in the security and military fields, especially in the field of securing the borders, and supporting efforts to unify the military institution
