Audit Bureau meets with the U.S. Embassy.

Tripoli 20 February 2025 (Lana) Head of Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, discussed with the U.S. Envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, and Chargé d’Affaires, Jeremy Berndt, files related to governance and transparency.

This came during a meeting held yesterday in the presence of the directors of the relevant departments of the Audit Bureau and members of the U.S. Embassy.

The Audit Bureau stated on its Facebook that the meeting discussed ways to support the independence of the Audit Bureau and enhance joint cooperation, including partnership with the US Agency for International Development (USAID), and enhance cooperation with U.S. control institutions by working to benefit from the specialized International Visitor Program (IVLP), which contributes to raising the efficiency of the Bureau's oversight performance.

The statement indicated that the meeting comes within the framework of strengthening international partnerships and developing financial oversight mechanisms, which contributes to raising the efficiency of oversight work and achieving the principles of transparency and accountability.
