Governor of CBL meets with a delegation from the World Bank.

Tripoli 20 February 2025 (Lana) Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Naji Issa, discussed with a delegation from the World Bank a number of the World Bank initiatives in various areas.

This came during his reception yesterday of the Vice President of the World Bank Group for the Middle East and North Africa, Osman Dionne, and the accompanying delegation.

The CBL stated on its Facebook that the initiatives discussed by the two parties include technical and advisory support, including preparing a comprehensive study on the reality of the Libyan economy, enhancing transparency and disclosure, supporting digital transformation, improving institutional performance and the quality of public spending, and contributing to achieving economic stability.

The bank added that the World Bank delegation stressed the importance of the CBL’s independence at this stage, commending the efforts of its new administration in developing policies and strategies that would overcome difficulties supported by real structural measures and reforms at the level of various sectors.

The delegation also stressed the importance of creating an ongoing dialogue with state institutions and the World Bank Representative Office team, which will resume work at its headquarters in Tripoli soon.
