Cairo, February 18, 2025 (LANA) - US Special Envoy to Libya Ambassador Richard Norland said that he and Chargé d'Affaires Berndt discussed with Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dabaiba ways to enhance bilateral economic and security cooperation between the United States and Libya to make the two countries more secure and prosperous.

Norland added in a tweet published by the US Embassy on its account on the platform - X - We reviewed how the international community and the United Nations Support Mission in Libya can help Libyans overcome divisions, unify institutions, and pave the way for successful national elections, and we also affirmed our shared concern about the assassination attempt on Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Adel Jumaa last week, and expressed our best wishes for his speedy recovery after this unacceptable attack.
