Dbaiba meets a delegation from the World Bank

Tripoli, February 18, 2025 (LANA) - The head of the Government of National Unity, "Abdul Hamid Dbaiba", agreed with the Vice President of the World Bank Group for the Middle East and North Africa Region, "Osman Dionne", to reopen the World Bank office in Tripoli after a closure that lasted about seven years since 2019.
During Dibaba's meeting today, Tuesday, at the Cabinet Office, an agreement was reached to implement a package of initiatives with technical and advisory support from the World Bank, including enhancing transparency and disclosure, supporting digital transformation, and improving institutional performance, which contributes to developing government services and enhancing economic stability. The meeting was attended from the Libyan side by the Minister of Finance, Khaled Al-Mabrouk, and the Head of the Executive Team for Presidential Initiatives and Strategic Projects, Mustafa Al-Manea, and from the World Bank, the Director of the Maghreb and Malta Department, and the Director of the Maghreb Department at the International Finance Corporation, in addition to the Resident Representative of the World Bank Group in Libya, and the Resident Representative of the International Finance Corporation in Libya and Tunisia.
