Libya welcomes China's firm position in supporting a Libyan-led and owned process.

New York, 18 February 2025 (Lana) Libya welcomed China's firm position in supporting a Libyan-led and owned process away from external interference.

This was stated by Libya's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Taher El-Sunni, after a productive meeting with the President of the Security Council for the current month, the Chinese Representative to the United Nations.

“We exchanged views on the latest situation in Libya before UNSMIL’s briefing tomorrow,” El-Sonni said in a tweet.

“We discussed issues of mutual interest as well as regional and international challenges, most notably the Palestinian issue,” he added.
