Jofra February 17, 2025 (LANA) - The patrols of the Jofra Municipal Guard Service launched inspection campaigns on all shops in Hun, Dan, Sokna, Al-Foggha and Zillah before the advent of the month of Ramadan.
The Director of the Jufra Municipal Guard Service Branch asked the patrols to pay attention, focus and bear responsibility to ensure the food security of the citizen and deal seriously and firmly with violators and take legal measures in the event of discovering any type of violation in terms of the validity of food materials, meat, vegetables, juices, milk and other materials of a more consumer nature during the holy month.
The inspection campaigns began on food stores, butchers, bakeries, and vegetable and fruit shops.
The Municipal Guard said that a patrol of the Guard confiscated quantities of expired food items that are unfit for human consumption and rotten vegetables inside the city of Hun, Wudan and Sukna, and issued violations to the owners of the activities and referred them to the Violations Unit for action.
On the other hand, the Municipal Guard directed slaughterhouses, abattoirs and butchers not to slaughter or sell the meat of livestock such as sheep, camels and goats of African origin unless they are examined by a veterinarian to prove that they are free of diseases.
