Al-Aqouri meets Spanish Ambassador to Libya in Benghazi.

Benghazi, February 17, 2025 (LANA) - The head of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives, "Youssef Al-Aqouri", met on Sunday with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Libya, "Javier Soria" and his accompanying delegation at the headquarters of the Council's office in Benghazi.

According to Blihaq, Al-Aqouri stressed the historical relations between the two countries and Spain's role in supporting Libya's stability, noting that there is a close link between the security and stability of Libya and Spain by urging the European Union to play a greater role in preventing foreign interference in our country and achieving the aspirations of our people for democracy and choosing those who represent them through free and fair elections.
Regarding the immigration file, the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives stressed the need for joint coordination between Libya and the European Union to confront the unprecedented flows of immigration that have become a major challenge for everyone.
The head of the Foreign Affairs Committee explained during the meeting that the House of Representatives carried out its duties and issued the laws for parliamentary and presidential elections and the referendum on the constitution, renewing the position of the House of Representatives that all foreign forces and mercenaries must leave Libyan territory.
Al-Aqouri stressed during the meeting the House of Representatives' support for the development process through the establishment of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund to undertake reconstruction tasks and overcome the division in Libya, and that the issue of development is a priority for the House of Representatives, pointing to the efforts of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces in combating terrorism and extremism in order to achieve stability and protect Libyan territory from smugglers and criminal gangs and secure Libyan territory.
For his part, Ambassador "Javier Soria" stressed that the Kingdom of Spain will continue its support for Libya, and he also stressed the Kingdom of Spain's keenness to support the United Nations mission.
