Tripoli, February 16, 2025 (LANA) - The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Libya said that it provided relief aid to 1,760 Sudanese refugees in the east of the country last week.
The commission explained that about (787) Sudanese refugee families who recently fled the war in Sudan received blankets, various furniture, water containers and personal hygiene supplies in Derna and Al-Qubba in eastern Libya last week.
The commission confirmed that the aid provided came in partnership with the Libyan Relief and Humanitarian Aid Authority and with support from the European Union.
The commission indicated that these refugees were forced to leave everything behind them, and often arrive with only their clothes, stressing that emergency aid represents a lifeline that helps them rebuild their lives amid these difficult circumstances.
