Food Control seizes a large commercial fraud network in Tripoli.

Tripoli, February 15, 2025 (LANA) - Inspectors from the Food and Drug Control Center, Souq al-Jumaa Unit in Tripoli, accompanied by Brigade 444, the Investigation Office of the Deterrence Agency and the Municipal Guard, were able to seize a large commercial fraud network.

According to the center in a statement today, Saturday, the network members are mixing a local product far from the approved health specifications, impersonating a global brand "Mangaro" for weight loss, and "Vita Care" for hair care, and it is packaged in empty bottles, containers and boxes, indicating that these empty containers are imported from abroad "Turkey" and carry fake data and trademarks on the basis that their origin is "the United Kingdom and others from Germany"

The center added that the network members are manually filling this fake product inside these prepared containers, at the office of their company "The Best Choice" in - Bab Bin Ghashir area, and that the contents of these containers are stored in the Al-Shawk Road area in the Salah al-Din area in Tripoli in poor conditions that harm the health of its consumer.

The company promoted the product in a large advertising manner through social media by a number of content creators and held promotional parties for it in other cities to make it a consumer icon that is increasingly in demand by consumers, according to the center.

The center pointed out that the "Best Choice" company committed other violations in order to facilitate the promotion of its products "through documentary fraud" by forging documents for the control center "and the signature of the Director General of the Food and Drug Control Center" in a clear and blatant manner, stressing the arrest of the company's officials and the confiscation of all quantities and packages and the closure of the warehouse by the competent authorities.
