Libya participates in the work of the Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World.

Riyadh, November 14, 2025 (LANA) - Libya participated in the work of the 13th Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World, held by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and hosted by Saudi Arabia, under the title "The Impact of Culture on Social and Economic Development".

The Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Mabroka Toggi, headed the Libyan delegation participating in the conference, which was attended by a number of Ministers of Culture and delegations of ISESCO member states, and representatives of a group of regional and international organizations working in the cultural fields.

The two-day conference addressed a number of cultural issues, as it reviewed the ISESCO report on the achievements made in the cultural field, as well as the report of the Heritage Committee in the Islamic World, which sheds light on the efforts made to protect and preserve heritage sites.

The second session was devoted to the guiding documents, which included ISESCO’s initiative for cultural rights and the right to culture in the countries of the Islamic world, an analytical document on the list of World Heritage sites in danger in the Islamic world, in addition to documents related to the digitization of bilingual dictionaries in the countries of the Islamic world, the illustrated historical dictionary of the art of Arabic calligraphy, and the document on enhancing the recovery of cultural property in the Islamic world.
