African Union Office returns to work from its headquarters in Tripoli after a 10-year hiatus.

Addis Ababa, February 13, 2025 (LANA) - The person in charge of running the affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Government of National Unity, "Taher Al-Baour", signed with the Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security at the African Union, Bankole Adeoye, at the headquarters of the Union today, Thursday, an agreement to host the African Union Office in Tripoli, after a 10-year hiatus.

The signing of the agreement was attended by the Chairman of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki, on the sidelines of the 46th session of the Executive Council of the Union.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the resumption of the office's work from Tripoli represents an affirmation of the state of security and stability witnessed by Libya and the return of many embassies and diplomatic missions to the capital, which contributes to activating the paths of consultation and diplomatic coordination to serve the interests of the Libyan people.
