Al-Aqouri meets the Turkish consul in Benghazi.

Tripoli, 10 February 2025 (Lana) Head of the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Committee in the House of Representatives (HoR), Youssef Al-Aqouri, met with the Turkish Consul, "Serkan Karmanlioglu, at the headquarters of the Council's office in Benghazi.
The spokesman for the HoR, Abdullah Belihaq, said that the meeting discussed a number of issues of common interest.
According to Belihaq, Al-Aqouri affirmed the importance of relations between the two countries, adding that Turkey is an important country on the international scene, and we look forward to its support for Libya’s stability, stating that HoR formed a committee for the Libyan Turkish parliamentary friendship headed by the HoR’s member, Al-Salihen Abdul-Nabi, highlighting that the HoR is the Turkish side to activate the friendship group in the Turkish National Assembly for Libya in order to enhance parliamentary cooperation at the political level.
Regarding the economic side, Al-Aqouri reiterated his invite to the Turkish companies to work in Libya and complete their projects, extending his thanks to the Turkish side for the assistance provided during Storm Daniel.
The Turkish consul stressed the depth of brotherly relations between the two countries, adding that Turkey always stands with Libya’s unity and stability and wants to see Libya as a strong and prosperous country.
He revealed the opening of the Turkish consulate in its new headquarters in the middle of this year in Benghazi and that visas will be granted directly from Benghazi to facilitate travel procedures for Libyan citizens, calling for facilitating Libyan visa procedures.
Karmanlioglu also expressed his happiness with the return of direct Turkish Airlines flights to and from Benghazi after an absence of years.
Regarding the educational area, Karmanlioglu confirmed that a delegation from Turkish universities visited the University of Benghazi to offer scholarships to Libyan students, including undergraduate and graduate studies.
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to continue coordination and follow up on common issues, and Al-Aqouri invited Turkish businessmen to visit Libya.
