Libyan and Tunisian Customs Discuss Traveler Challenges and Trade Exchange.

Tunis, February 06, 2025 (LANA) - A delegation from the Libyan Customs Authority discussed, on Thursday, with Tunisian officials, in Tunisia, the challenges facing travelers across the land borders between the two countries.

The Libyan delegation included the Director General of the Authority, and a number of directors of the relevant departments and offices, while the Tunisian side included the head of the Tunisian Customs and a number of Customs officials.

The meeting discussed several files related to facilitating the movement of travelers and trade exchange between the two countries, Libyan funds confiscated in Tunisia, the permissible value of money accompanying travelers, registering Libyan cars in Tunisia, and facilitating trade movement through the Ras Jedir and Dehiba crossings.

The two sides affirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation and joint work to overcome obstacles facing travelers and trade movement, which contributes to strengthening bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.

The meeting, which was held on Thursday in Tunis, comes within the framework of implementing the decision of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity No. (26) of 2024, regarding the formation of a committee to consider the complaints of Libyan citizens traveling to Tunisia.
