Dbaiba meets with AFRICOM delegation.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, February 5, 2025 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbaiba, stressed the importance of continuing military cooperation with the US side, and benefiting from international expertise in developing the Libyan military institution, in a way that enhances its capabilities in maintaining security and stability.
This came during his meeting today, Wednesday, with a delegation from the US Military Command in Africa "AFRICOM", to discuss aspects of military cooperation between Libya and the United States of America, and ways to enhance the partnership in the fields of training and raising the efficiency of forces, according to our government platform.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in the security situation in Africa, regional challenges related to combating terrorism and organized crime, and mechanisms for coordinating joint efforts to confront security threats facing the region.
For its part, the AFRICOM delegation praised the level of cooperation between the two sides, stressing the United States' commitment to supporting security capacity-building efforts in Libya and enhancing joint coordination on issues of common interest.
This meeting, according to the platform, comes within the framework of ongoing efforts to enhance security and military cooperation between Libya and the United States, which contributes to consolidating regional security and combating threats facing the region.
