British Embassy welcomes UNSMIL's announcement of the establishment of the Advisory Committee.

Tripoli, 5 February 2025 (Lana) The British Embassy in Libya welcomed UNSMIL’s announcement of the establishment of the Advisory Committee.

In a statement, the embassy expressed its full support for the efforts of the mission and the Advisory Committee to revitalize the Libyan-led political process.

The embassy stated that the committee can play an important role in making recommendations on contentious issues that need to be addressed in order to unlock progress towards free, fair, and inclusive national elections and steps towards the reunification of Libyan government and political, economic, and military institutions.

It urged all relevant stakeholders to provide their full support to the Advisory Committee in order that it can complete its work without hindrance of interference.
