The House of Representatives and the Central Bank of Libya discuss unifying government spending for the year 2025

Tripoli, February 4, 2025 (LANA) - The Finance Committee of the House of Representatives discussed with the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya "Naji Muhammad Issa" the mechanism of government spending and its unification for the year 2025.

This came during the meeting held today, Tuesday, at the Central Bank of Libya in Tripoli, where it was emphasized that salaries would be paid regularly according to the letter of the Chairman of the Finance Committee addressed to the Speaker of the House of Representatives until reforms are approved and actual spending is determined for the year 2025 at the beginning of next April.

The meeting reviewed the financial and economic situation in general and the effects of public spending on increasing demand for foreign currency and putting pressure on the exchange rate and foreign currency reserves.

The Chairman of the Finance Committee of the House of Representatives affirmed his support for the measures taken by the Central Bank of Libya with the Libyan ministries and institutions, the Audit Bureau, the Office of the Attorney General, the National Oil Corporation, and the Ministry of Economy, especially with regard to the regularity of oil revenues and the organization of import operations, so that they are carried out exclusively through approved banking instruments.
