EU Delegation to Libya welcomes establishment of Advisory Committee
Pulbished on:Tripoli - 04 February 2025 (LANA) - The European Union Mission and the international missions of the European Union member states to Libya welcomed today, Tuesday, the announcement by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya of the establishment of the Advisory Committee, and that it is in the final stages of screening candidates for its membership.
The European Union Mission and the international missions considered in a statement that the establishment of the committee is a strong step in practicing the policy facilitated by the United Nations under Libyan leadership, praising the United Nations Support Mission in Libya for this initiative and its determination to ensure the formation of the Coordination Committee.
The European Mission called for supporting this committee, which it said could contribute to strengthening a unified national vision, which is essential for moving Libya forward towards national elections and unifying institutions.
The European Union Mission and the international missions of the European Union member states to Libya stressed that the EU countries remain committed to supporting Libya and the United Nations Support Mission in Libya in its political, economic, national reconciliation, and unification of institutions efforts, while ensuring transparency, consensus, and Libyan ownership.
