Al-Baour and Al-Nafti discuss ways to enhance the strategic partnership between Libya and Tunisia

Tunis, February 3, 2025 (LANA) - Talks were held at the headquarters of the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, Monday, between the person in charge of running the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, and his accompanying delegation, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Al-Nafti, on ways to enhance the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The meeting, which was attended by the Minister of Transport, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, along with a number of officials and representatives of sectors from both countries, witnessed discussions on ways to enhance the strategic partnership between Libya and Tunisia, with a focus on activating previous agreements and adopting new mechanisms to support economic integration, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The two sides discussed facilitating the movement of individuals and goods across borders, in addition to discussing aspects of cooperation in security fields, especially in combating organized crime and illegal immigration, as well as enhancing joint consular services and coordination in facing challenges and difficulties and arrangements for the convening of the "Joint Supreme Committee between the two countries next March.

At the end of the meeting, the two parties stressed the importance of this visit in achieving tangible progress in joint files, and the need to continue coordination on regional and international issues, especially within the framework of the League of Arab States and the African Union Commission, in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly countries and enhances stability in the region.
