Mauritania signs agreement with African Development Bank.
Pulbished on:Nouakchott, January 31, 2025 (LANA) - Mauritania signed a financing agreement with the African Development Bank worth $24 million, aiming to support efforts to enhance food security in the country.
The Mauritanian presidency, stated in a statement that the agreement was signed during a meeting between President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani and the President of the African Development Bank, Akunemi Adesina, on the sidelines of the African Energy Summit held in Tanzania earlier this week.
The project includes the establishment of a livestock hub extending over an area of 20,000 hectares, in addition to a livestock market, with a focus on improving the quality and productivity of natural pastures, by restoring the vegetation cover and rehabilitating and protecting about 10,000 hectares of degraded pastures.
