Electoral Commission receives candidacy applications.

Tripoli, January 30, 2025 (LANA) - The High National Electoral Commission announced today, Thursday, the continuation of receiving candidacy applications at the targeted electoral administration offices in the municipal council elections (Group Two - 2025).

The Commission held a meeting yesterday, Wednesday, at the Commission's headquarters in Tripoli, in the presence of department directors, heads of technical departments and the international support team to review and evaluate the current stage (accepting candidacy applications) and discuss preparations for the next stages of the municipal council elections (Group Two - 2025).

The meeting discussed the technical departments’ preparations for the upcoming stages, which include opening the voter registry and distributing voter cards. The departments reviewed their readiness in terms of human and technical resources to carry out these sensitive tasks, stressing the importance of joint coordination between departments to ensure the smooth and transparent electoral process.
