The Interior Ministry and the European Union Mission discuss enhancing border security.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, January 29, 2025 (LANA) - The head of the Border Guard Service at the Ministry of Interior in the Government of National Unity, Major General Muhammad Al-Marhani, met today, Wednesday, with the head of the European Union Mission in Libya (EUAM), in the presence of a number of officials from the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, according to the Ministry of Interior, mechanisms for enhancing cooperation in the field of border security and management were discussed, in addition to discussing technical solutions to renovate the Abu Al-Sharaf watchtower and develop the operations room in the Al-Assa border security sector, with the aim of improving monitoring capabilities and enhancing security on the borders.
According to the Interior Ministry, the meeting comes within the framework of joint cooperation and coordination between the Border Guard Service and the European Union Mission in Libya, which presented an honorary shield to the head of the service, in appreciation of his efforts in supporting border security and enhancing international cooperation in this field.
