European Union Mission to Libya welcomes the appointment of (Hanna Serwaa Tetteh) as the new UN envoy to Libya

Tripoli, January 25, 2025 (LANA) - The head of the European Union Mission to Libya, "Nicola Orlando", welcomed the appointment of "Hanna Serwaa Tetteh" as the new Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).

"Orlando" said in a post published on his account on the X website that the European Union renews its support for the mediation efforts made by the United Nations and its commitment to a sustainable political solution through a comprehensive dialogue between the Libyans.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations "Antonio Guterres" announced yesterday, Friday, the appointment of Ghanaian "Hanna Serwaa Tetteh" as Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya to succeed the former envoy "Abdullah Bathily" who left his post in May 2024.
