Ministry of Tourism discusses activating Libyan-Chinese memorandum of understanding

Tripoli, January 22, 2025 (LANA) Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industries "Nasr al-Din al-Fazzani" discussed with the Chinese Chargé d'Affaires "Liu Jian" a number of topics of common interest.

During a meeting held at the ministry's headquarters, the two sides reviewed the memorandum of understanding concluded between the two sides in 2010 and the mechanisms for developing and reactivating it and preparing an executive program for it.

The meeting included a presentation of a number of Libyan tourist destinations, which exceeded 600 destinations, and which need marketing and promotion.

The meeting also touched on activating an air route between Libya and China, and facilitating visa procedures for Chinese citizens to visit Libya.

The meeting discussed topics related to the Asian Development Bank and the Silk Road Fund, in addition to discussing Chinese initiatives presented to support some service sectors, including the tourism sector.
