Minister of Tourism meets with the Spanish Ambassador.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, 22 January 2025 (Lana) GNU Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industries, Nasr el-Din Al-Fizani, discussed with the Spanish Ambassador to Libya, Javier Soria, aspects of Libyan-Spanish cooperation in the area of tourism and traditional industries.
Al-Fizani reviewed Libya's tourist attractions, cultural diversity, geographical location, and moderate climate, and how to benefit from these factors to develop an effective strategy with sisterly and friendly countries within the "Return to Life" plan launched by the GNU by transforming Libya into a competitive tourist country, especially in light of the security stability witnessed by the country.
The minister expressed to the ambassador his commitment to further fruitful cooperation through the return of direct European flights to and from Tripoli and facilitating all procedures, stressing his desire for the rest of the EU countries to follow the example of the countries with which an agreement was reached and their visas were taken from Tripoli, such as Spain, Greece, and Malta.
For his part, Soria stressed his readiness to facilitate Libyan citizens obtaining visas more widely with the EU and open airline routes with the Libyan side, as well as expressed his desire to provide further cooperation and support the Libyan plan to attract tourism in light of Libya's tourism potential.
