Minister of Local Government meets with the Ambassador of the EU Mission.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, 21 January 2025 (Lana) The GNU-Minister of Local Government, Badr Eddine Al-Toumi, discussed yesterday with the Ambassador of the European Union Mission to Libya, Nicola Orlando, the international cooperation plan and development programs for 2025-2027 and strengthening the partnership of the EU Mission with the GNU.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, the Director of the Cooperation and Programs Department in the Mission, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Local Administration, and the Directors of International Cooperation and Organization Affairs at the Ministries of Local Government and Justice.
During this meeting, they reviewed the national targets and priorities of the GNU within the framework of partnership and international cooperation, supporting the path of decentralization, the rule of law, justice reform, and ensuring community participation as pillars for achieving stability in the country.
Orlando presented the pillars of the development plan for 2025-2027, stressing the EU's commitment to supporting Libya's stability and development investment to achieve a better future.
Al-Toumi directed the Ministry's working team and technical specialists to cooperate with their counterparts from the EU to design development programs and projects and determine the objectives and activities in line with common national targets.
